Set the new BarcodeReader component to read without button press

Hi all! I have an app that reads QR codes using the new BarcodeReader component (not Scanner). Works great, but I can't figure out how to put the scanner automatically to reading mode, without the user having to press a button.

I have it on a separate screen to which there already is a button on the front page of the app. Would very much like to Navigate to the actual reading page and have the BarcodeReader already activated.

The Barcode Reader button is not a "real" button so can't Select() it.

Any ideas?

    Hi @AnttiKurenniemi ,

Yes, as mentioned in your description, the new control BarcodeReader has no “Onselect” property and thusly, the Select function does not work for it. And we are afraid for now, there is no other ways to do this, as long as users want to use this control, it should be clicked in advance.

By the way, you can also consider the previous control named Barcode Scanner, but this control needs to be enabled to show up in the insert pane:

    1. Open Settings
    2. Select Upcoming features in the left-hand menu and select the Retired tab
    3. Turn on the Legacy barcode scanner setting

Then you will find this control by searching “web barcode scanner” in the search bar of insert pane.

    Best Regards,
    Bof
