Edit form is having some issues now, does not matter what you put into the Edit Form Item property, - Gallery.Selected, Gallery.Selected.Id etc... always produces the same error.Invalid Formula: Expected a value compatible with 'DataSource'. ?
Not sure why this one posted but this is no longer relevant
My follow up reply is on my original post - https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Forum/Populate-Edit-Form-from-Gallery-Selection/m-p/45004#M18772
Ok a new version of PowerApps was just released, this seems to be fixed now.
By the way the new Interface looks great. well done!
Hi @KC,
I saw you shared that
"
So there is no issues working with the Editform control by now?
The error message you posted should mean the the record specified under the item property does not match the record type defined for the Data source, which is added under the Data source property of the EditForm control.

Hi Michael,
Correct, the issue is fixed now with the new version of the PowerApps Editor.
Thank you
I am having this exact same issue in PowerApps Web Editor - there is no new version of the web editor, so I'm not sure how to fix this. In my case, the form should display the selected item in from a gallery whose data source is a Collection I created. But on the form, there is no option to selection a Collection as the data source for a form.
I too am having this problem. I think that collections are an invalid data source for an EditForm, but I can't find a useful work around?
