Hi,
When providing "create" permission on a table to a security role, what is the significance of the different access levels? What does it populate on the the newly created table record if we choose User vs Organization vs Business Unit?
For a Table that is configured as User/Team owned, before you Save the new record, if the Owner field is in the Header or on the Form you can set it to something other than your user (by default it will be set to your user), but if you need to have the record owned by another User, or Team then the levels apply if they are in another Business Unit etc.
Thanks. For example, we are creating a custom role and adding core Account table to this role. What does it mean when we add "Create" permission (to this core table) with different access levels. How does this impact the creator and any other user in the organization or in a business unit (where the business unit could be different from the creator's).
the answer from @Fubar is correct. If you have another level than "User", you can put as Owner, when you create a record, another user within the granted access (as an example if it is Organization you can put any user)
So if we have for a table - Create with Organization Access and Write with Business Unit Access, when creating the record the creator can assign anyone in the Organization as "Owner" of the record but after this for any current owner can only reassign the "Owner" to within the Business Unit?
yes
The Security roles are tied to the user, so if a user with a security rule with "create" set to "Business Unit" creates an item, that user can set the owner to any user/team within his Business unit, but if another user have the right to "Organization" he can set the owner to whoever within the whole Org, that user can also change the other users record owner to someone outside of the original Business Unit.
Thanks. If we set the "Create" with access level "Organization" but the "Assign" to access level of "User", then what is the result?
