Hi, I noticed that DLP policy havent refreshed in few days and I created and applied a new policy today.

I have about 70+ connectors in allowed 9 in non-business and 1000+ in blocked. Is this an ongoing issue as previously I have had DLP policy kick in within 30-60 mins.

Thanks

You're not alone — several users have reported delays in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy enforcement recently, especially when managing large numbers of connectors. Here's what we know based on the latest information:

🧠 Expected DLP Policy Propagation Time

    • Normally, DLP policy changes take effect within 30–60 minutes.
    • However, Microsoft documentation acknowledges that it can take up to 24 hours in some cases for changes to fully propagate across all services.

    ⚠️ Why delays happen

    • Large connector sets (like your 1000+ blocked connectors) can increase processing time.
    • Multiple environments or complex policy scopes (e.g., tenant-wide vs. environment-specific) may also slow down propagation.
    • Backend sync issues or service throttling can cause intermittent delays, especially during peak usage or platform updates .

     What you can do

    1. Wait up to 24 hours — this is the maximum expected delay according to Microsoft.
    2. Check the Power Platform Admin Center:
      • Go to admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com.
      • Navigate to Data policies and confirm the policy is active and applied to the correct environments.
    3. Use PowerShell to verify policy application:
      • Use the Get-DlpPolicy and Get-DlpPolicyEnvironment cmdlets from the Microsoft.PowerApps.Administration.PowerShell module.
    4. Monitor the Power Platform Health Center for any ongoing service issues.

    🧪 Known limitations

Microsoft has documented several known issues with DLP policies, including:

    • Delays in policy enforcement
    • Incomplete propagation across environments
    • Limited support for custom connectors and desktop flows

If the policy still hasn’t applied after 24 hours, I recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft to investigate backend sync issues.
