Importing data into tables with lookup fields

I have to import data in a custom table km_salesdataadminmacrosegment which has two lookup fields km_gebiet and km_country to a table km_salesdataadminareas. The relationship is Many-to-one and manual editing is working fine.

I try to import data from an excel file which has the following structure:

The values of km_gebiet and km_country are the unique identifier of the lookup table data.

During the import data" wizard I choose the option load into existing table.

But the lookup fields are missing in the mask for the column assignment and are therefore not imported.

What is the problem? Theoretically, it should work like this.

Thanks for any help,
Frank

    Hi,
You mean the data for km_gebiet and km_country already exists in target system and when you import the excel, the lookup isn't resolving to the actual values?

exactly - the data already exists. The import wizard does not offer the lookup fields during mapping so that they are not imported either.

ok, you did it via an app. Is that the only way? I would have expected it to be possible directly via tables.

when you do it an excel o csv import in dataverse, for lookups you need to point to the field that you want to find the value, so the system will find in the related value a unique record that has the value in the file on the specific column and will associated. This is the only way to link record.

Can not exists two or more rows because in that case will fail.
