Hi

Is there a possibility of adding PCF to canvas app ? i could see in app settings there is feature called components. but not sure what that is and how to develop one.

Was expecting my component to be available there... but it did not.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

The setting you see is for the canvas components which is a feature available currently on canvas and allows composition and reuse of the controls. These will be converged with the PCF components going forward. Currently the PCF components (pro-components) are not available in the canvas apps. Clay covered the app convergence and canvas\model components recently in the Microsoft business app summit and session recording is available here - https://bascatalog2019.azurewebsites.net/SessionDetail.aspx?id=77209.

You are right Ben. We are working on the release scnedule to make canvas pro components available for preview. We are evaluating if we can make limited capabilities available sooner as they are ready, will keep the community posted on the development.

    that's great!

Actually i am asking because of the licensing cost involved for model driven apps. at the moment prices for the model driven app (plan 2) is extremely high and some of our customers are straight away refusing just because of the cost. if we have PCF in canvas app then we can leverage it to use and create our own controls and customers also get their work done through canvas apps. and not paying too high a price

Note: this is based on my understanding of licensing Smiley Happy

Thanks for the context. There are active discussions happening regarding licensing and I have reached out to the right folks for this. I will keep the forum posted on any development.
