Can we get an update that allows Power Bi desktop to automatically detect all fonts on a PC and included them to the app.

While automatically detecting all fonts on a PC might seem convenient, there are some reasons why this feature isn't currently available in Power BI Desktop:

Security: Allowing access to all fonts on a user's PC could introduce potential security risks, especially if the user interacts with untrusted sources.

Performance: Scanning and managing a large number of fonts could impact Power BI's performance, especially on resource-constrained machines.

Font Compatibility: Not all fonts are created equal. Some might have rendering issues or licensing restrictions that wouldn't be suitable for use in reports.

Focus on Consistency: Power BI emphasizes consistency and reliability in reports. Allowing complete freedom in font selection could lead to reports with incompatible or visually unappealing fonts.

Alternatives to Consider:

Limited Font Selection: Power BI offers a curated selection of fonts that are known to work well and are generally considered safe and reliable.
Custom Fonts: You can still use custom fonts in Power BI by adding them to a theme file (JSON) and including them in your report. This gives you more control over the fonts you want to use while maintaining some level of oversight.
