Task Managment at different Scopes - Tool Gap?

Hey Everyone,

Right now, our company is reviewing task management options and of course we're going through our Microsoft stack to vet already paid for capabilities.

I'm finding a gap in GCC High tenants, because there really isn't a great OOTB task tool for what I think is a common use case in our industry: A tool that allows Supervisors/Mangers with multi-departmental employees, to task users across the organization, some users on Web Only Users vs Corporate Device Users

  • To Do - Would be great if I could assign anyone but in order to do so, it seems that you need to create a list in order to share a task - You can't share individual tasks.
  • Tasks (outlook only) - can be assigned to individuals, but for Web Only users, they can't accept tasks in Outlook Online.
  • Tasks (teams) - Not available in GCC high.
  • Planner - Great for teams and small projects, but everyone on the plan receives a notice of comments and some tasks don't need to have information distributed across a team of people.
  • SharePoint Lists - Can be individually created and customized, but then you're managing multiple lists and workflows for various users.
  • MS Project - Licensing fees and too cumbersome for simple individual tasks.
  • Project for the Web - Not available in GCC High.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Maybe I'm missing something. Is there a fedramp moderate version of a task tool that has worked for your organization? I would love to stay within our Microsoft tenant to leverage the various security features, but at this point, I don't know how to make that happen.

    Funnygurl179,

I will dig a little and see if I can find anything that may help you. Give me a few days to look things over.

    Funnygurl179,

I have done some research and talked to some of my peers we concluded that the best way forward would be to create a custom solution using PowerApps and Automate.

We are somewhat surprised that users could not accept tasks in Outlook Online (

Thank you for the time, effort, and confirmation. I was hoping I missed something somewhere, and hopefully in the future there will be an OOTB option for GCC high users!
