I am familiar with the camera control and Add picture control; this is not what I am after (as far as I can tell)

I've built an app using those controls to take pics and associate them to a record (asset) and store in a SharePoint list.

I also see a need to allow a user to open their devices photo gallery and select images, not take new pics, and add them to the list. I really don't know where to start. or if it's possible. The basic operation of the app is take a picture, add it to a collection that is displayed in a gallery, then save the collection when happy with it. This would just be selecting existing pics rather than taking new pics..

Any thoughts would be great thanks.

The "Add picture" control is what you need. When the user taps on the control in the App it gives four option:
    • Take Photo
    • Photo Library
    • Browse
    • Cancel
It is the "Photo Library" option that will give your users the ability to use images from their Camera Roll.

If the image is a file on their device, then they can choose "Browse" and navigate to the file they wish to submit.

Let me know if this helped.
