Help resolving "Getting your data..." message

Hi, I'm new to PowerApps.

I had been developing an app reviewing my changes using "Preview the App" from within PowerApps editor, all going relatively smoothly for someone learning! But when I shared the app with a colleague to review my progress using the Share option the initial screen has a message that reads "Getting you data..." and nothing further happens.

The PowerApps editor shows no errors, and the PowerApp monitor shows success for the 3 operations that fire when the app starts.

I'm not really sure how else to debug that issue at this time.

Let me know if I can provide any more details about the issue. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I ended up resolving my issue by recreating the app using the data source. There wasn't too much to change to begin with...

I think you're right in that it was some sort of permissions issue. In hind sight, I think I removed the connection to the data source and was unable to correctly re-authenticate with it for whatever reason. To clarify my issue a little further, the canvas app would work correctly with the data source using "Preview the app (F5)", but once "Published" I would only see the "Getting your data..." message.

    I appreciate the help!

Have you published the last version of the app?

    Hi there,

I had this problem about 2 years ago, unfortunately I cannot remember exactly how I fixed it, but I believe it was something to do with permissions.

I suggest double checking everything that might give your colleague access - license, M365 security group if applicable etc, but I think it was actually permissions in Dataverse security roles that were the issue. Has your colleague got the correct permissions to view/edit the app in your environment?

    Hope this helps! :)
