But documentation still does not mention new types. Did anyone tried to use them?

Yeah, I played with lookup, even it's still not supported. If you're interested keep an eye on my twitter/youtube/blog - I plan to post about what I found playing with lookup control. I used it as one of available attribute types for my Composite Address/Address Autocomplete controls that are part of my PCF Controls Toolkit.
