Edit Rich Text is not a control type option

I have an app and I connected to a Sharepoint list. When I try to change the field properties to "Edit Rich Text" it is only giving me three options and that is not one of them. This has never been an issue before and my other apps allow it. Not sure what has changed but I have the settings matched.
I have the same question (0)

Please share pictures and what type of field is it currently set too and what content have you already saved in the column.

I created a test column and it is still the same results. There is no data in it and the whole SP list only has two records.

I think it's some limitation when you put a form within a container.
Avoid using rich text control within a container.
If you really need it, work around is 'Add a custom card' control , then insert richtext control within the custom control, and bind some property.
or Use a separated out of the container.

You didn't mention specifically what component you were using so I have to assume Rich Text? I do not understand what you mean by you tried to Change it?

The rich text control is simply rich text, by default.

@stampcoin Also there is no issue with using Rich Tex in a Container, so I do not understand why you said not to use it. it works just fine.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!

I tried to simulate the scenario, but I might interpret it wrong.
    What I tested,
    1. SP list with rich test column.
    2. Add classic form within a container and sp list as source, no issue.
    3. add modern form within a container, there isn't rich text box  option to choose.

so, base on the test, for this particular case, I said avoid using richtext.
thanks for give me chance to disprove my conclusion.😊
Now I figure out more : there could be limitation of the modern type form not the container, it might have the feature in the future I hope.

So @DD-18072137-0, please give us some feedback.
If you use modern type form, try to use classic one instead.

     Hello @DD-18072137-0

I also tried to replicate the case

    • Classic form with "Multi line of text" control is still having Rich Text Editor.

    • Where as, modern form with "Multi line of text" control have limited options like below and I think, Rich Text editor moved as a modern control.
Hence, Workaround is to add "Rich text Editor" control inside the data card, which becomes custom data card and configure the properties of the control accordingly.

Please let me know, if you need any help on this.

Thanks@stampcoin and , your comments helped to trouble shoot the issue.
