Amending a record in a gallery

Hello, I was hoping someone could help.

I have a form with several entries where people can put requests, that is submitted to a SharePoint list.

There is then a different page with a gallery that shows people their requests and what stage they are in ( Draft, Completed and Rejected)

If rejected , I'd like people to be able to amend their request and resubmit it, but from the gallery page where it shows it rejected.

What do people think would be the best way to achieve this please? Would I need a patch to change the status back to Draft from Rejected?

Thank you for any help

As I interpret your issue, you have one form and two galleries that could be the source of the item being edited. If this is the case, you can use a global variable to solve your problem.  For each gallery, insert a ">' icon.  Assuming your datasource for the form is yourtable, the Form is Form1 and the screen for the form is scrForm, make the OnSelect property of the ">" icon in both gallieries:

    EditForm(Form1); Set(vrecord, ThisItem); Navigate(scrForm)

In the Item property of the form: Lookup(yourtable, ID=vrecord.ID)

I haven't seen that used for a form as Defaults() usually is used for a new record, and results in pretty much in an empty form.  Also when a the NewForm() function is used the Item property is ignored so there is little logic for using it.   With Defaults(splist) as an item property you will never be able to amend (edit) a record with that form.
