Overview: I want to use peripherals to capture inputs in my canvas apps.
Problem: I have a weighing scale, scanner and a printer connected to a Windows machine on the shop/manufacturing floor.
Initial Hypothesis: Each of these peripherals uses a standard to capture data such as GS1 (bar code scanners us this), the Windows client machine has the data, and I want to use the outputs within a Canvas app. Surely there must be bridging software to do this.
Possible Resolutions:
1. Find bridging software, does anyone know of anything?
2. use RPA to scrape from the native app on the screen and add it to the Canvas app - meh...
PCFs include a native support for accepting input from Barcode scanners as well as microphones, cameras, and GPS coordinates. I've never tried working with the peripherals you suggest here, but if they do operate on a standard, as you say, then maybe you might be able to read the data from some of them in a PCF.
