Can we set a row as selected in a grid in MDA?

Hi everyone,

I have scenario where we have to navigate to Home page grid of an entity and set a row as selected based on record Id. We are using a sidepane to open the selected record and provide good user experience to switch the records seemlessly, without opening the complete record in the whole window. Do we have any method available on grid control? Or any other way of selecting the row?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

As far as I remember only "Editable Grid" (not the standard, read-only one) has that event - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/model-driven-apps/clientapi/reference/events/grid-onrecordselect

Here is the full list of event handlers supported by grids - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/model-driven-apps/clientapi/reference/grids

    Hi @a33ik ,

Thank you for the response. But my question was more on setting a row as selected by default based on its id.

In this case, I'm afraid the answer would be - not, that's not doable unless you want to build own custom PCF dataset-bound PCF control.

Sure. Building PCF was one other alternative we thought of. But wanted to check if there is any OOB approach before we take that route. Thank you @a33ik
