Can you convert a existing choice column into a multi choice column?

The 'Selecting Multiple Choices is Allowed' option is greyed out.

    No, you must recreate, not allowed to change types on the field.

    ok, understood. is there a way/process guide on how to migrate the existing choice data from this existing column to the recreated multi choice column?

    Hi @Chris_Hilger ,

    I would do the following normally:

    1. Create the new column in the table with the multi-select for the Choice
    2. Create a view with the two columns (personal view is fine if in a model app)
    3. Export the data to Excel for those two columns (it will include hidden columns for the GUIDs etc. as well
    4. Copy values for all the old column to the new column
    5. Re-import the data
    6. Remove old column from any forms / views etc.
    7. Publish all customizations
    8. Delete the old column
