Attachments not saving to SP / PowerApps form

Hi all,

I recently published a new PowerApps form connected to SP and Flow.  The form is saving everything to the SP list correctly except attachments.  I have tried using the default attachments control and a custom card with the attachment control manually added and neither works.  Attachments are enabled in SP advanced settings and an enabled field in the SP list.

When I add an attachment to the PowerApps form, it appears to upload (showing 'un-saved') so I'd expect saving the form to post the attachment to the SP list and the form.  However no attachment is found anywhere after saving, and checking the item in View and Edit mode both show 'no attachments found'

I've searched solutions for this for several hours and haven't been able to resolve.  Does anyone have any idea whats going on here?  Or how to solve?

I just tried another extension (.jpg) and it saved the attachment.  So it appears .docx is not a supported file type but this is the primary extension that users will need to submit.

I guess I need to save the attachment to a documents library?  I also need to pass the attachment via the Approval workflow so I'm not sure exactly how this is going to work.

    Hi @chhowa ,

I've made a similar test but could upload a .doc file to attachments field.

    Please check these points:

    Set the card's Update: DataCardValue7.Attachments

    Set the card's Default: ThisItem.Attachments

Set the attachments ' Item: Parent.Default

What's more, please check your system whether meet the requirments:

    Thanks Phoebe,

It started working when I removed the Attachments card and readded it and verified the card values are as you outlined.  Thank you!

Now I am trying to use the Approval connector to send an approval when a new SP item is added, AND pass the attachment in the Approval mail.  However, I've seen a few threads that suggest it's not possible to pass attachments with the Approvals connector/mail (though they are all 1+ years old: example).

Do you know if this is still the case or is there a way to pass a SP attachment using Approvals?

So actually, I was able to get the attachment to pass by ditching the Approvals connector and using 'Get Attachment', 'Get Attachment Content' and 'Send Email with Options'

The attachment passes in the e-mail with 3 options:  Approve, Reject and More Info Needed.

However, the 'SelectedOption' dynamic content (e.g. User Option) is not available in the condition statement that follows.  Am I missing something?
