Take action on hover

Hi Community,

Currently, PowerApps does not support taking action onhover, only onselect. I am looking for a workaround for this.

I am trying to create a cascading navigation menu like you can have in SharePoint. I would like to have one menu item that when you hover over it, more items drop-down that you can click on.

I tried to follow this tutorial but it still requires you to click a button before the other menu items appear.

I see someone has already requested a similar feature in the ideas forum and I have upvoted their post but it is from 4 years ago so I doubt Microsoft will ever implement this.

I know this may not be possible to do, but if anyone has suggestions for something similar to this, please let me know!

    Hi @ctrlaltendme ,

You are correct that there are presently no triggers other than changing colours (Fill/Color/BorderColor) or putting up a Tooltip that work on Hover.

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Only way to achieve this is to build your own pcf component.

I know it's very subjective, but for me cascading hover menus are more difficult to use than click versions as they require more precise mouse movements and are unforgiving if your cursor inadvertently falls off the edge into the lava.. game over and back to the start you go..

you could create a sharp looking click to show/hide floating nav menu using a container with its ootb drop shadow and border radius to clip the corners of your nested gallery
