Hi,

Does anyone know what causes the function bar to grey out/disable.

More importantly how to stop it happening?

This is a problem that keeps randomly happening, there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to what causes it and it occurs in both Standard PowerApps and PowerApps for Teams environments. The problem happens irrespective of there being code already saved and equally applies to labels with just text.

For established apps I've previously put the problem down to app updates since the last save and either turning settings off and on or coming back to the app after a day seems to unlock it.

However, a brand new app I was working on yesterday has opened this morning with the same issue (see screenshot).

Any clues on how to stop this happening?

Hi @Gary_Eden ,

Is the app opening in Read-only mode by any chance? What usually fixes this for me is to refresh the browser tab in which I'm running Power Apps Studio.

Hi @BCBuizer
Nope, opened normally.
However, I've just reopened the app to see if your refresh browser idea worked.
Ironically, the app has loaded fine this time (I didn't clear the browser or make any other changes).

I'm guessing that something must have got stuck when studio was loading and it was just a case of giving it time to clear itself on the server for it to settle down.

Next time it happens I'll just close studio and make a cuppa before trying again 😀

@Gary_Eden Thanks for reporting this. This is a known issue and we are working on a fix for it. Usually, reloading the page fixes it but we would soon roll out a better solution to this
