Dynamic Scoring in PowerApps Model Driven Apps

Hello all, would like to seek for everyone's input in respect to my PowerApps idea. Not very good at describing things but do let me know if you need further clarification.

Question 1:

Would like to enquire if there is PowerApps able to compute a simple scoring system based on user's input in their form, example would be as follows:

Imagine I have a questionnaire consist of 5 questions

Q1 - I have option 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 as a dropdown option

Example:

Question 1 Scoring
Option 1.1 1
Option 1.2 2
Option 1.3 3
Option 1.4 4
Option 1.5 5

Q2 - I will have option 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 etc

Question 2 Scoring
Option 2.1 1
Option 2.2 2
Option 2.3 3
Option 2.4 4
Option 2.5 5

and all the way to Q5

each option at the back end I would assign a pre-fixed score for the option user has chosen, say 1.1 = 1 point, 1.2 = 2 points...

So at the end of Q5 system will be able to compute and display the total score from Q1 to Q5 based on user's input

If Question 1 answer is Option 1.3, assign score of 3

If Question 2 answer is Option 2.5, assign score of 5

so total = 3+ 5 = 8

Question 2:

Separately, the app I'm working on is anticipated to host probably up to 1mil unique entry, wonder would SP will still be a good idea to host the data? Have seen on this reddit that generally SP is the more popular option comparing with Dataverse due to cost concern. I wonder with 1mil entry whether if SP still able to host it or I have to resort to use Dataverse instead.

Grateful if anyone could point me to the relevant guide or video for me to explore and learn on the subject itself, thank you.

    Hi,

yes you could easily do your first question.

as for your second question, I believe you are saying you will have a table/list with 1 million entries?

But how much of that data is being displayed, versus a subset (filter) of it being seen? Do you need to be able to scroll on the UI beyond 2,000 records?
can you give some more detail on what the data is exactly?

    Thanks

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your response.

To answer both of your questions, I work in a pharmaceutical company and this is designing something like a client health file database + health score database.

For the health score, there will be a set of questions and the idea is to let system compute the scoring at the back-end based on the patient's response to our health and lifestyle questionairre

Understand you mentioned that it is feasible, wonder if you able to elaborate further on that point and perhaps let me know what are the keywords I should search for if I were to pick up the knowledge on this subject?

Separately, for the client health file database - you are right as we have 700k+ customers, we expect to have a "master table" which can cater up to 1mil (and perhaps 2mil) entries.

We dont need much info to be displayed at the Master page as any info we can click into the entry itself, but we do anticipate for items such as Client Name, Client ID, Residential District/State, Health score, and last visit date.

Dont think we need to scroll beyond 2000 records for now but its hard to say, if any data extraction required we may just export it as an Excel or CSV and we will go from there
