I am attempting to export data from Dataverse to excel, however, the Export menu option does not show on the screen. Is there a setting to enable/disable this option?

If you are using a Model Driven App and in the view of a table you cannot see the export to excel option, then its probably a permissions issue. Under the securty role you are under, make sure you have the Export to Excel option selected.
Its in Security Roles>Business Management>Export to Excel.
After this you should see the export to excel option in the app as highlighted below.
