How can I detect the first item in a Gallery?

I have a gallery feed that is pulling in items from a frequently added to list. Depending on tags in that list, some components in the gallery have different attributes. (different label/image sizes and so on)

I would like the first gallery item to always have certain attributes. How can I detect the first item in a gallery for this purpose?

@PJaeger You can get first item of gallery using:

First(Gallery1.AllItems)
