Spell Check not working in Edge

Hi everyone

I've got a bit of a weird issue with the spell check in my apps.  I have spell check enabled on some multi-line text boxes in these apps but for some reason this isn't working in Edge (Chromium).  If I type something incorrectly in these boxes in Google Chrome it flags it as a 'bad' word as expected but in Edge it just doesn't recognise any incorrect spellings.  Spell check in other apps such as OWA works fine in Edge though?

Has anyone else come across this issue?  All our staff use the new Edge as their default broswer now and changing this to Chrome isn't an option so I really need to get it working in Edge.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi @Anonymous

One thing I would do is to enable the "spellcheck" option for available languages in the Edge settings. This may possibly fix the issue.

@timl thanks for the quick reply.  I've checked this and spell check is enabled as per your screenshot.  It's strange because spell check in other web apps such as Outlook works fine in Edge but then isn't working on this site?  I've also checked with one user who has the same version of Edge and spell check is working fine for them.

That's very strange, and I'm not sure what the answer is. I thought it might have been some sort of localisation issue which was why I suggested enabling spell check for the other available languages.

I suspect it must be related to some browser setting, hopefully someone else here might know the answer?

I seem to have resolved this.  Even though spell check was enabled it just wasn't detecting misspelled words but if I right-clicked any word in one of the text boxes and then ticked the Check spelling when entering text option under the Check spelling heading this seemed to get the spell check working again:

It was quite odd because it was working all along in OWA but after making the above change it then started working on all web sites and apps.
