Context Variable use no longer accessible in PowerApps... Is it me?

Until a few weeks ago, I was able to check where a variable was used in my app.

I don't seem to be able to do that anymore. After clicking on the (x) in the tools sidebar and searching for the variable, I find it, but when I click on it sometimes a list opens with all the instances where the variable is used in the app. Most of the times nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for helping with this head-scratcher!

    Hi @Gilmour ,

A Context Variable only exists on the current screen, so are you on another screen when looking for it?

For all instances, it is easier to search for it with the bottom icon.

    Hi @WarrenBelz ,

I misspoke, I meant to ask about Global Variables, sorry!

Here's a screenshot showing the issue:

When clicking on the little row to the left of the variable name, typically a list of all the controls where the variable is used/referenced or through which its value is set should become visible. That's not happening, thus making it impossible to track and resolve possible errors, or remove the variable if unused.

In the past, the ellipsis in the command menu bar would give access to collections and variables with full details displayed.

I've tried with different browsers to no avail.

    Am I missing something?

    Hi @Gilmour ,

There is also the "expand" icon on the left which then shows choices of direct and indirect uses on the Uses tabs.

As well, you can search with the bottom icon on the left menu for all instances of use.

There are no settings that you can alter to change this setup.

Hi @WarrenBelz, yes, the expansion arrow (misspelled to “row” in my previous reply) is what I was referring to. When I click on that, the Global Variable list collapses! I wondered whether it might be a browser issue. What browser are you using?
Also, when you refer to the “bottom icon” it’s that the (x)? That’s wha I use to search for variables.

Uses and Definitions is exactly where I’m trying to get to, which I would do without a problem with the old version.

Is there a different way to get to Uses and Definitions?

    Hi @Gilmour ,

I am using Chrome on a PC browser. Also the Search is the bottom "magnifying glass" on the left menu.

Yep… tried with Chrome… worked like a charm. Thank you @WarrenBelz
