Generally as a best practice , in any application,
do u just establish many:many relationship (say between table 1 and table 3)
or introduce another table between them
table 1 --- 1:N ---> table 2 <--- N:1 --- table 3?

If you have other properties that relate specifically to the junction table then having a third table will be necessary. Personally I always use one. The OOB many to many relationship allows no means to edit the junction.
