Hello All,

I am creating a food ordering app with multiple restaurants for employees from different departments and for this the respective department leads will update the employees details with the food order and submit them in the PowerApps. I need help in sending out mail directly to the respective restaurants as per the department leads' orders on a click of a button in powerapps through power automate. can you pls help in sharing the logic for creating the steps?

Thanks.

    Hello,

You can send emails directly from a PowerApp using the Office365Outlook.SendEmail function. The full reference for this can be found here: Connect to Office 365 Outlook from Power Apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

Another way to do this, which would allow for some more control of how emails are assembled would be to use a Power Automate Flow that is triggered by a button in the app. Use Power Automate pane - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

For specific logic, more details on how your datasets are structured would be needed.

    Hope this helps!

If you want to send the emails using Power Automate the one thing to notice is that you have to turn off the People Picker in the To field of the Send an Email action. By default its limited to internal email addresses only. Since you want to send to external emails at the restaurants you need to disable the People picker and then enter the email address using dynamic content.  In the new Power Automate designer you will see a checkbox above and to the right of the To field labeled Advanced Mode. Click on that to switch off the People Picker.  You can then supply the external email address using dynamic content.
