User - Settings - Manager - Why does this not Sync with Azure Identity info

I have all of company staff set up in Azure with their Manager and Department specified.  This works great with the Org Chart in Sharepoint.

In Dataverse, when I go to the Admin Center and select the Production Environment, all the Users are there.

However, when I go to Settings , Users and I select a User , the Manager Field is blank.  Do i need to go thru and enter everyone's Manager again ?  Is there anyway to sync this with the Manager provided in Azure ?  Where is this Manager in DataVerse stored ?  Might be faster if I can update it directly in a Dataverse table.  Still annoying that Microsoft keeps 2 tables for the same thing...  How to keep them in sync when staff moves to a new role ?

Thanks - sorry if i sound frustrated...

Dave

Oops - found my answer using Bing (still frustrating that there is no single source of truth in MS) :

In the Users table (which could be in a system like Microsoft Dataverse12), the Manager attribute typically refers to another user within the same system. This could be represented by a unique identifier specific to that system. The Manager attribute can be used within the system for various purposes, such as setting up approval workflows or determining the reporting structure12.

On the other hand, in Active Directory, the Manager attribute is stored using the manager’s distinguishedName34. This is a unique identifier within the Active Directory system, and it can include information about the manager’s position within the organizational structure (for example, their organizational unit, domain, etc.)34. This attribute can be used for various purposes within Active Directory, such as email routing, access control, etc34.

So, while both attributes serve a similar purpose, they are used within the context of their respective systems and can have different implications based on the system’s functionality and the organizational setup.
