connecting to salesforce trial

I need to do a POC of connecting to salesforce.com with a power app. I set up a salesforce trial, but the salesforce connector won't connect to it. Any ideas?

    Here's what I found:

    It doesn't work with a trial account, but it does work with a developer account.

    Go to developer.salesforce.com and sign up for a developer environment.

    The connector could then connect using api version 47
