Custom Domain on PowerApps Portals

I am trying to find out if you can use a fully customized domain URL with the new PowerApps Portal, or if you have to use a sub-domain of .microsoftcrmportals.com or powerappsportals.com ?

Are fully customized domains names allowed?

Thanks

Matt

This capability is available in PowerApps Portals. Important thing is to ensure that your powerapps portal is in production state and is not trial as this is only available for production portals.

This documentation explain the whole lifecycle of a powerapps portal (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/admin/portal-lifecycle).

If you have a power apps portal from old licensing model (dynamics portal), then lifecycle is based on your Portal addon subscription or Dynamics licenses based on how you got the portal

The difference seems to be between "Production" portals and "Trial" portals. I have Dynamics CE Plan Licenses, do these only include Trial Portals? Is there any way to convert between Trial or Production?

@Pstork1 @schuess3 FWIW guys, here is what I see on the back end in my environment.  I made my portal by going to make.powerapps.com and selecting the Portal from Blank (preview) option.

Does anybody know if this issue has been fixed? We are in need of changing our customer's portal domain and can't do it because of this problem?

So where do I go from here? Is Microsoft Aware? How can I make them aware?

    Thanks for your response.

I don't know how to un-mark it as solution, otherwise i would.

I dont know why the solution was marked here. Its' not the solution.

There appears to be a regression in functionality compared to Dynamics Portals and PowerApps Portals. In Dynamics Portals you can provide an SSL certficate and custom domain, but with PowerApps Portals this functionality doesnt exist. Im hoping that its on the roadmap for PowerApps portals, or else it will be very challenging to give a portal credibility without custom domains.

    Hey @Pstork1 ,

Since I was receiving conflicting reports about this, I also spoke with @ToddBaginski and he found the option to manage domains and SSL. However, when i went back to my portal i did not have the option. The main difference i see is that I created a new portal from powerapps with the .powerappsportals.com domain. I noticed with Todd his default url had the .microsoftcrmportals.com domain. So i wonder if it has something to do with where you start from? I am still hoping to get to the bottom of it.

I don't think this capability is available at this point for PowerApps portals.  The best you can do is create a redirect that will send them to https://portalname.powerappsportals.com.  The problem with a custom domian is that there is no server access to add your custom SSL certificate and https is required.
