Dataverse Connector Error For Guest Users

Hello,

I built a Canvas Power App as a combination supplier portal and internal order / invoice processing tool.

Everything works well for internal users and for 80% of external supplier users that we provisioned guest accounts to.

However, one of our suppliers with about 20% of all users is facing issues where none of them can consistently access the Power App because as the app loads, it pops up with a Connections screen asking them to create a Dataverse connection. That is the only connection it asks for. When they go to create a connection, they select their account & press Create, but it just returns an error saying "We were unable to create this connection. Please try again." And the error details do not give any helpful details.

One of the users for this supplier successfully logged into the app initially. But then he clicked another link to log in again & show the other users and he got the same error shown above.
Most of these users are internationally based outside the US and they thought maybe it had something to do with some of them not being logged into the VPN, but then they logged in to the VPN and still got the same error.

We're checking with my organization's IT people to see if they did anything different when setting up the guest users & licenses for this supplier, but I don't think we had many differences when setting them up.

I'm at a bit of a loss for what may be causing this issue, any more information, advice, &/or help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Still having issues even after the supplier tried turning off their VPN & firewall settings.

    Any advice for this?

@takolota, Are they in the same AAD group like the 80%? (if you are using Office365 groups) Also, if they don't have Premium license through their tenant you will have to provide them with a license in your tenant.

    Thanks @AhmedSalih

The premium licensing is the 1st thing I’m asking our IT team to check because we either

    A. Are provisioning licenses when these users are created

    Or

    B. Have the settings so a license is automatically added to accounts when they open a premium app.

We’ve set up each supplier in a

    “[Supplier Name] Guest Users”
security group, so I also want them to check on that security group.

I'm checking over what information I can view on the users and security groups in AAD and I'm not yet seeing any differences between the supplier users & group with errors and the ones without erros.

    Hi @takolota ,

Did you ask the user to use the private window of the browser? It may be due to the Starlink. I was facing a similar issue. It's a similar thread: Solved: StarLink - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com) If everything is the same then this might be the cause.

    @AbdulWahab

I’m not sure if that thread references the exact same error

I believe these users are internationally located though, and the one who was able to get the app working once is working remotely, so may have a different set up if the rest are in the same office.

I don’t think they are using starlink specifically, but the other context & issues mentioned in that thread may give good background of potential issues if they can get things working in private browsers.
Asking some of them to retry in private windows was one of the next things I was going to do with them, I’ll respond with how that goes.

I’ve also singled out one of the users and gave him more direct permissions to the App instead of through the security group, so I’ll also see if there is a difference there.

    Hi@takolota ,

You can verify the access issues for these users by just following the below steps:

    1. Go to the Power Platform Admin centre. Go to the settings. Go to the users.AbdulWahab_0-1692079244476.png

    2. Open app access checker

Thanks @AbdulWahab, but that seems to check a different category of apps like model apps or Dynamics apps, not canvas apps.

We had one of the users try to log in using a private browser, but they still got the same error.

I even tried removing all the Dataverse table connections in the app & re-adding them.
