Dataverse from SQL Date/Time Field Conversion

Just getting started with Dataverse/Power Platform and believe that we probably have a setting skewed somewhere, but I'm not finding it.

We have an on-prem SQL Server being accessed through a Gateway and populating Dataverse through a Dataflow. When the date/time fields come in, they are converted to UTC incorrectly. The on-prem server is in US-Eastern timezone (-6 currently) and the dates are being converted to a UTC time 6 hours earlier, instead of 6 hours later. Below are screen shots of the same records in SQL and in Dataverse:

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this conversion would be happening in the reverse direction? Actual UTC time in Dataverse should be 8/16/2021 12:00 AM.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @ronkochanowski ,

    Check the date/time column behavior in dataverse. You can find behavior option in advanced option of the field/column. If it is user local, change it to time zone independent.

    Please accept it as solution, if it resolves your query.

    Regards,

    Prakash

    Thanks @Prakash4691 ! That fixed the immediate issue, though the problem of Dataverse not converting the date/time value appropriately in the first place is still a problem. I'm testing the platform for future viability and would hate to have to set every date/time field to Time Zone Independent to solve this issue. From my research, once the field is set this way it can't be changed back.

    @ronkochanowski ,

    If not though OOB, you can try through writing custom plugin code. Register your plugin in post operation pipeline while creating a new record.

    If you are not familiar with plugin, please find below link for your reference.
