Access to side navigation bar in model driven apps

Hello,

We are facing an issue in our model-driven app where a user without a Power Apps license is able to see the side navigation bar when assigned the System Customizer role. However, when we remove the System Customizer role and assign a custom security role instead, the user is no longer able to see the navigation bar.

We understand that assigning a Power Apps license to the user will resolve this issue, but we would like to identify which specific privileges within the System Customizer role are enabling the user to view the navigation bar without a license.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks

The issue where a user without a Power Apps license can see the side navigation bar in a model-driven app when assigned the System Customizer role, but not with a custom security role, stems from the System Customizer role's specific privileges on the Model-driven App table.

The System Customizer role includes create, read, and write privileges on this table, allowing the user to view and access the app's navigation bar, even without a license, as these privileges enable interaction with the app's metadata. To replicate this behavior in a custom security role without requiring a license, ensure the role includes at least read privileges on the Model-driven App table and the relevant Dataverse tables used by the app, such as account or contact, with appropriate access levels (e.g., User or Organization).

Additionally, verify that the custom role includes privileges for the "Process" table to support workflows, as this is part of the System Customizer's default permissions. Testing with these privileges should help identify the minimum required to enable navigation bar visibility

Thanks @EE-04041031-0 for the response and, our current custom role already contains the permissions for model driven app table as well as process table, but still users with the custom role is not able to see side navigation bar.

Do you know any other tables that we need to give permissions to enable the visibility of side navigation bar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Thanks
