unsaved attachments in power apps

Hi there,

I have a fairly common problem. Based on the "SharePoint List" I am trying to customize the form in Power Apps. I found that at the time of saving, all changes in the attachments field are not saved, and when adding a new attachment, I see "unsaved". I have reviewed a lot of videos on solving such problems, but neither using the "Patch" command nor using the process in Power Automate gives results. I also created a button that would save attachments, registered in onSelect SubmitForm(Form5) command; but after saving everything disappears, the file is not saved.

Please give me some advice.

Thanks,

Maksim

    Hello,

Sorry you are having this issue. Unfortunately you haven't provided us with anything that we can give you suggestions on code wise.

Definitely want to help and I can understand frustration hehe, but try to provide us some details about the data, how its bound to the screen, show us an example of you using a patch button to do it and that it doesn't save. Definitely provide code.

One suggestion I have is, I read you have a button that is supposed to save it, but show us that code, details on the attachment etc.

I'm certain we can help you, just need that little something 🙂 to help us get you there.

    Cheers

"I found that at the time of saving, all changes in the attachments field are not saved, and when adding a new attachment, I see "unsaved"."

Hi, are you trying to update your current data and it does not save/reflect back to the apps? Are you updating through sharepoint or from the app edit form?

    Hi,

I have attached some screenshots, I hope they will be enough. Tell me if you need anything else. The process itself involves the following:
At the end of the process, the user attaches the file to the form and (ideally, it is saved automatically), but temporarily I added a button to the form to check the mechanism. All other data on the form is saved without problems. Important - the fields on the form are in editing mode by default, including the field with attachments. In Figures 7 and 8, you can see one file that is attached automatically using the Power automate program, and the second file is applied manually ("unsaved") and then you need to save it, but after clicking standard "Save" button or through the added "Save attachment" button, nothing happens - the file disappears. In one of the pictures, I gave a lot of attempts to save the file, nothing worked (I commented out all attempts). I am ready to create a meeting in Teams and show you everything if you have a desire to help. I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,

    Maksim

Does anyone know why this might not work?

    Hi,

Is this embedded in SharePoint itself or a stand alone app?

I noticed you are using the SharePointIntegration object, versus the SharePoint Connecter and I wonder if that is actually the issue.

But I want to ask to validate.

You added a form, and then in the Source List, it populated the form with the Attachment control correct? You didn't have to add it manually?
    Cheers

    Hi,

I created a customized form after clicking on "Integrate>PowerApps>Customize forms" in SharePoint List. After that, the system automatically added the "SharePointIntegration" element to Power Apps. The system also added all fields automatically, including "Attachments". This mechanism immediately stopped working after the publication of this form without any additional changes. At the same time, the standard form (not customized in Power Apps) saved attachments correctly. Unfortunately, I am not aware of the "SharePoint Connecter" mechanism.

After some time, I needed to add the "Form5" element (the right part in the screenshot with attachments at the bottom) and on this form I already added the "Attachments" element again manually and they also did not work as in the original version.

Thank you for trying to help,

    Maksim
