I work for a University where we have Microsoft 365. I have been creating Power Apps for our O&M employees to enter information in various SharePoint Lists. I have been working and am able to created Dataverse tables.
My question is, can I create tables in Dataverse and continue to use Power App for employees to add/edit information or are Dataverse licenses required for ALL employees submitting info?
Hi @RJF61 ,
What type of licensing do they have? If you have any type of Microsoft 365 or Office 365 licenses then those will usually include the ability to do Power Apps (canvas apps) connected to standard connectors like SharePoint but it will not allow connecting to Dataverse (unless you use Dataverse for Teams About the Microsoft Dataverse for Teams environment - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn)
The only way they would have this type of licensing would be to purchase Power Apps Per App or Power Apps Per User licensing (also a Pay as you go option).
Hello @dpoggemann Thanks for the response. All employees currently have access to Power Apps (regardless of the number of Apps). Will that allow entry of records (with Dataverse as the record source)?
Hi @RJF61 ,
Any users that are leveraging the Dataverse to enter data through the Power Apps will require a license. This is a premium connector. The users would require at least a Power Apps Per App license in this case.
