Can we create more than 1 portal per environment?

Hi,

I'm working with a client who already has a Power Apps Portal created in their Dev, UAT, and Production environments. I've read that you can't have more than one portal per environment that is of the same type and language - is this true?  I'd like to create a custom portal connected to the dataverse (I'm not able to at the moment because I'm waiting for the client to grant me the correct permissions to do so).

The portal that exists is a "production (add-on)" portal. Does this mean that we'll have to do customizations in the same portal going forward, if we can't provision another environment?

I'd like to give the client a heads-up as soon as possible, if we can't create more than one portal.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

    Hi @lcaputo

Your understanding is correct. Only one portal template is allowed per environment. Official URL:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/portal-templates

I am assuming your client has already created a "Portal from blank" template in the given environment.  The easiest way for you is to signup for a developer environment. I am adding the URL for your reference. And you can perform your development there and showcase it to clients then use "Configuration migration tool to migrate it to production.".

    Hope it helps.
