Modifying forms in Dynamics 365 for Outlook App

Hi all

I want to modify the form below by adding a single field to capture a 'type'. The use case is that appointments in Dynamics are synchronised into a time management system which needs a type. At the moment we are having to push the same value for everything then manually update.

I have looked all over the place for hints but can't work out if it's even possible, let alone how. Any support and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

    Hi @nickellis74

You must add the form associated with Outlook (App for Outlook Account Card) in a solution in the accounts table and add the field there, you can also do this with the contacts field

Thank you @Jmanriquerios . I'm using Appointment, not Account, here. The forms I have available when I look at the Appointment table are as below:

None of these are the one showing in Outlook. However, the data does go back to the correct environment, so it's pulling it from somewhere. I just can't find where!

Thanks for your help so far.

    Hi @nickellis74

Modify the CARD form, I made reference to account because your image shows account and contact so I thought that was it, so I don't understand in which part you want to modify

Hi @Jmanriquerios thanks for your help so far. I had all sort of authentication issues on here yesterday so couldn't come back to you.

In the example below, I want to add a 'Type' control below the 'Set Regarding' control. This is the form that appears in Outlook when I open an appointment and then click the Dynamics 365 add-in.

I had a look at the Card form but it doesn't seem to have any of these attributes on it, not sure that's the right form?

    Thanks

    Nick

    Hi @nickellis74

Okay, perfect, you can't modify that, it's part of the application model that cannot be modified.
You can modify the views of the forms but not the display model and you cannot modify that component, at least natively.

I give you an option and that is to create your own app so that you can consume it with Power Apps mobile, I use it and it works quite well, because you can customize it

Thanks - that at least solves having to spend any more time on it!
