External NFC Card Reader with my App

Hi Experts,

I'm trying to get my NFC ACR1255U-J1 to work with my Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 either via USB or Bluetooth so that I can use it with my PowerApps app which I've created for our staff to clock in and clock out.

I've downloaded the android USB driver to the tablet and if I open the Reader Test app then it picks up the reader fine but if I try and use it within PowerApps then it doesn't work, it just says Ready to Scan. The card reader beeps twice when I swipe my card but doesn't do anything. I have created a test PowerApps app with the below code in a button, if I scan my card on the back of the tablet then it works but it needs to use the external card reader as the tablet will be mounted to a wall. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work please?

I have also similar needs but acording to my researches, unfortunately readNFC function does not work with external readers.
