: How to Get an Agent’s Response Using Meeting/Conversation ID in Power Automate

Hi everyone,

I’m building a Power Automate flow where I call an agent (like a Copilot AI) inside a Teams meeting. The flow only gives me the Meeting ID / Conversation ID, but I want to capture the actual response from the agent.

I’m not sure how to use this ID to fetch the agent’s messages. Can anyone guide me on:

  1. How to get the agent’s messages using the Meeting/Conversation ID?

  2. How to filter the messages to only get the agent’s response?

Thanks in advance for any advice or examples!

That value is not really useful to try to get an answer because in Power Automate there is no great way to do so and because the answer itself may not occur on that conversation id at all.

You would literally have to use a Do While, and keep looping with Delays to try to use the conversation id and then use that checking if the conversation has done anything.

    Its not a good model.

Can I ask how you are triggering the Agent? And what it is supposed to do? What we need to figure out is a way for you to collection the information, such as having the agent write the data somewhere, using the conversation id as a unique id, that you can poll in the flow, or have another flow triggered when its written.

Can you outline what the agent will do, and how you will use the response in the flow please? Can you instead have the agent itself simply be triggered by whatever the flow was triggered to do?

@Michael E. Gernaey Hi, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation — that really helped me understand why the conversation/meeting ID alone isn’t reliable for pulling the agent’s response.

In my case, the agent is triggered inside a Teams meeting, and the goal is to capture its response text so I can reuse it in my flow (for example, posting it back into Teams or storing it in SharePoint).

I found that one possible workaround is to have the agent’s output sent by email, and then I can use Power Automate to take the email body and post it into a Teams chat or channel. That seems like a more stable approach than trying to poll the conversation ID.

Do you think this “email → Teams/chat” approach is the right direction, or is there a cleaner way to make the agent’s response available to the flow directly?

Thanks again for guiding me through this!

I would simply create a Power Automate Manual Flow, that uses the When an agent calls (skill) I think its called

    So Flow 1 Calls Agent
    Agent does work
Agent calls Flow 2 and passes it the text you want
and this Flow 2 does what you just said.

To make this work, make sure flow 2 is in the same solution as the Agent, so it can see it properly after the solution Publish all Customizations and the agent is reloaded :-)

That is what I would do, no I wouldn't use send an email.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey
