Modern Table Control Not Updating

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I have a modern table control with the following items

Filter(
    'Overhaul Parts',
    StartsWith(
        Ref,
        TextInputCanvas14.Value
    ) && ((Price = Blank() || !CheckboxCanvas9.Checked) && (Consumable = true || !CheckboxCanvas9_1.Checked))
)

When I change the search field or check/uncheck the table does not update, if I check the formula the filter is applies to the query but the table still shows the old list. If i then make a subsequent filter, they are applied. Seems the table is not updating its contents.

    Hi @josephdouce ,

    Please modify your formula and test again.

    Filter(
     'Overhaul Parts',
     (IsBlank(TextInputCanvas14.Value)||StartsWith(
     Ref,
     TextInputCanvas14.Value
     )) && If(!CheckboxCanvas9.Value,true,Price = Blank()) && If(!CheckboxCanvas9_1.Value,true,Consumable = true )
    )

    Best regards,

    Rimmon

    Exactly the same and it isn't delegable.

    The output from the formula is CORRECT, the table doesn't seem to refresh.

    Even the row count updates, but the displayed data doesn't.

    See here, the Query is showing the correctly filtered data, but the table visual doesn't appear to update.

    I have the same problem. Any updates on this issue?

    Hi @josephdouce @WernerGerald ,

    I recommend that you apply the formula to the classic Table, if the classic Table is working fine, and the problem may be caused by the modern Table, please consider using the classic control. Modern controls are still being refined.

    Works fine on a classic table, obviously a bug with the modern table, where can I report this?

    I also want to report this as a bug. A temporary (!) workaround for me: implement paging - the items-collection for the table should not contain more than 25 records. Then everything works as expected. But come on: should be an easy bugfix ...

    Edit:
    New discovery. Grid reflow works fine when screen height is less than 1080p. I mainly work on 2k Monitor and it was never working. Switching to a 1080p monitor seems to work most of the times. Switching back to 2K Monitor, I tried reducing the Vertical size of the Browser where the App is running on, and there is a point where the Filters work as intended. Go over one pixel, and everything breaks again. Width seems to have no effect on functionality.

    Experiencing the same issue here. As previously mentioned, Filters start to fail as soon as the Modern Table Control has 25-30 items or more.

    Some additional feedback:

    If you set the Modern table Control to "List Only" then any number of filters will work as intended, no matter if Data Source is pointing to a Sharepoint List or a Collection.
    The Grid reflow behavior seems to be the issue. The only workaround I managed to get working is making a subsequent filter after you applied your initial filter.
    For example:
    Filter Table (+100 rows) with a Combobox called "Vehicle Brand" and select one item. Table doesnt update. Selecting an additional "Vehicle Brand" will then render the correct Data on the Table.

    Given that the reflow behavior "List Only" works, gives me hope that there could be a fix for this.

    Solution:
    Reduce the height of the modern table control to under 715 or only allow the table to display up to 13 items on a screen. Anything over will bug the table and Filters wont update properly.

    The recently published authoring version 3.24103.17 and up introduced multi-select capabilities but broke the OnSelect Property of the table. When your list has more than 15 records, any records loaded after scrolling cant be registered with the OnSelect property such as Set(varSelectedRecord,Self.Selected) .
