Flow not sending Email due to link

Hi!

So in the flow i'm making, I'm trying to send an Email with route information and a link to open the route with the waze app.

According to Waze, there are 2 ways to do this.

You can either create a link like so:

 <a href="https://www.waze.com/ul?ll=50.86825626%2C3.44035149&navigate=yes&zoom=15">Waze openen &rarr;</a>

Or you can create one like so:

 <a href="waze://?ll=50.86825626%2C3.44035149&navigate=yes&zoom=15">Waze openen &rarr;</a>

The difference is that the first link will redirect the users to a webpage and the second link tries to open the Waze app if the users has the waze app.

-> The second behaviour is what I want to achieve.

However, it seems like the Email block in flow doesn't actually send an email whenever the second link is inside the HTML content.

Is there a solution for this? Or could this be fixed?

Kinds regards

Karel Heyndrickx

    HI @KarelHeyndrickx ,

Could you please share a screenshot about your flow's configuration?

Do you mean that the email would not be sent from your flow if the second Link is embedded within your email body?

Based on the issue that you menitoned, I have made a test, and the issue is confirmed on my side. When insert a Hyperkink Link within the "Send an email (V2)" action of Outlook connector, the Link Target property is required to provide a valid web link, 6.JPG

but the "waze://?ll=50.86825626%2C3.44035149&navigate=yes&zoom=15" is not a valid web link.

If you want to embed the second link within the  "Send an email (V2)" action of Outlook connector in your flow, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to Microsoft Flow Ideas Fourm:

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/idb-p/FlowIdeas

As an alternative solution, I think PowerApps app could achieve your needs. On your side, you could consider create a canvas app, then add a button within the first screen of your app, set the OnSelect property to following:

    Launch("waze://?ll=50.86825626%2C3.44035149&navigate=yes&zoom=15")

then save and publish your app, share this app to your end users.

After that, get the web url of this app (e.g. 'https://apps.powerapps.com/play/5374afc0-b460-4121-866a-2829402a0061'):7.JPG

Within your flow, modify the "Send an email (V2)" action, 8.JPG

then when the end users click the Hyperlink within their received email body, it would open above shared canvas app, then they could click the button within the app to call/launch the Waze app on his device.

    Best regards,

    Hi!

Thanks for providing a solution to this problem. However, this takes away the smoothnes of the original plan. Instead of using a link to the powerapp app, I could just enter the valid Waze link.

     <a href="https://www.waze.com/ul?ll=50.86825626%2C3.44035149&navigate=yes&zoom=15">Waze openen &rarr;</a>

This makes the user navigate to the waze website where they can then press a single button to open the navigation in the app itself.
