Barcode Scanner Not Working on Android – Need Help

I’ve created a new app for scanning barcodes, but it’s not working on my Android device. How can I resolve this?

For context, I’ve already reinstalled the app and enabled the legacy barcode scanner (retired feature). Any suggestions?

@Sohan Hi,

How many android devices did you test ?

Do you own the device or by a company ?

Please test the app more than 1 android devices to exclude hardware/software include OS customization issues.

If the device owned by a company, you may need to check if any app deployment rules from Org.

I tested the app on three devices; one is iOS, and the other two are Android phones. but one Android one does not work. I am using a personal phone with company compliance, and the other two are the same.

Hi @Sohan,

Adding a suggestion - have you tested this with the current Barcode Reader ? I suspect that compatibily updates on retired features would not be high on development priorities and in terms of "future proofing" the app, it is far better to have current features.

Hi there! Could you further describe the error that is occurring and how it happening? If you haven't already, I would try ensuring that the correct device-level permissions (i.e. camera access) is allowed. If you can further describe the path you're taking when encountering issues, this will help us to better determine the resolution.
