I have a collection with 10 columns. I would like to somehow cycle that collection and get the column names to put into another collection for a drop down list. Is this possible? Any ideas?
I don't think it is possible to get the names of columns of a table. Since it is only 10 items, I recommend creating a datasource with the names of those columns as records. Using a connected datasource will allow you to update it as needed.
Otherwise, if you don't expect any changes to the column names, then use the Table() function in the Items property of your Dropdown menu.
Just to confirm what @mr-dang said, you currently cannot obtain the metadata information about the names of columns from a data source. Please create a new item in the PowerApps Ideas page so that the team can add it to the backlog of features to be implemented.
@mr-dang I think that is what I will have to do...thanks.
