Hi everyone,
I had a Quiz app (Canvas App) that I wanted to publish it Microsoft store so internally in my organization it can be used like we have polly which we can add easily like this:

So earlier there was Microsoft App studio to do this but now it is no longer available, but there is a documentation Reference but in my case I am just getting one option which is:

What I have done is exported my canvas app and when I tried uploading the zip it failed.

So if anyone has any idea about this please do share or any work around.

Regards,
Sidhant.

    Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

Did you perform the steps in the troubleshoot section of the documentation you referred?

Need to check. For creating the manifest file which is one of the requirement should I just copy the sample that is provided in the documentation and which fields need to be changed:

    Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

    That seems correct.

    Hi @BCBuizer ,
I just checked after exporting the Power Apps file (which was a zip file), I extracted it and it has the manifest file defined already and the icon's relative path is defined (default icon)

    Sidhant_02_0-1693302892600.png

So I did check the package (zip file) and there was a only issue which was Manifest version was missing.

    Sidhant_02_1-1693303197917.png

So I made a change I did add the version and zipped both the files (manifest and the extracted folder)

    Sidhant_02_2-1693303751265.png

Now it has started throwing this so I did need to override the default manifest file with the template and will it lead to any issues

    Hi @BCBuizer
    Sidhant_02_0-1693310632446.png

I compared the default manifest provided by the app (which is RHS) and the one provided by documentation and it varies.  And the json format provided in the documentation if I use will it cause any new issues?.
Is there any alternative way to make a Canvas app easily available as a tool like a plugin?.

    Regards,
    Sidhant.

    Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

I found this topic where it seems that Power Apps can't be published using the method you chose. Luckily an alternative is provided: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/teams-developer/publishing-power-app-to-team-store-invalid-app-manifest-file/m-p/3736753/highlight/true#M7369

    Thanks @BCBuizer ,
So for Canvas App what I understand we can add an application to a Teams or group chat by sharing the app with everyone in the organization and then sharing the required data sources used in the app (like Lists, SharePoint) and the method which I had shared earlier that is used in which case?.
And also if want to share the app with other users who are not part of the organization then in that case how can they use it if they want to see the app in MS Store.

    Regards,
    Sidhant.

    Hi @Sidhant_02 ,

I assume you wish to import the app to Teams outside of your organisation. This guide is available on that: Move customizations between environments - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn. After the app has been imported, the previously mentioned steps can be used to share the app within that organisation.

    Thanks @BCBuizer ,
I will check this post and let you know if there any issues.

    Regards,
    Sidhant.
