Syncing members of O365 group to Dataverse

Hi!

We are using O365 group as record owner in Dataverse Model-Driven app. The problem here is that IF user doesn't log in to Dataverse, none of the users information can be found from the Dataverse. It is like the user doesn't exist. Is there a way to make this sync from O365 group to Dataverse happen?

O365 groups are shared with permission and security role with the environment and the application.

Hi @MarkusRa ,

If you assign the security group to the environment (like this article explains) it will synchronize those users to the Dataverse and it would not require them to login to exist. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/control-user-access

I have used this approach a number of times and it works well.

Thanks for your response @dpoggemann !

Yes we have security group for the environment and every user is added to that security group. I falsely said that none of the users information can be found. Yes the user profile exist in Dataverse, but if user is added to team (team that is managed in AD) in Dataverse, this information doesn't sync at all until user logs in to environment.

Any ideas why it doesn't synchronize or is there a way to make it synchronize before user logs in to environment?

Sorry, not sure on this and the reason except I do see the following announcement around Microsoft 365 Groups being deprecated https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/deploy-office-365-groups

You can use power automate to force sync user.
