Connecting Canvas App to Active Directory

I have a login screen (using username and password) on a canvas app. I want to verify the username and password against domain Active Directory. If this is possible, how to achieve it?

    Hi

    for security reasons I would not. If you need to validate a user I would do it differently. it’s just not a compliant way to do it

    May I ask what you are looking to achieve and  maybe I can help you with a more secure way?

    and don’t forget they had to sign into the app so their credentials are validate.

    Cheers

    Thanks.

    The client wants to use the same credentials used on AD, so that they don't have many different passwords.

    When you log into the canvas app it uses ad auth. What other auth are they using for the app if not ad auth?

    What benefit is there to try to get someone password to fake log them in just to validate.

    super insecure.

    @Matsepo
    As @FLMike says, it is not possible to connect to a domain Activity Directory. And even if it were, collecting clear text usernames and passwords is not secure.

    If the requirement is to use the same credentials used on AD so that the user doesn't have many different passwords, the answer is to use Active Directory Federation Services and to then rely solely on AAD authentication for access to the Power App.
