Documentation for Template Asset Checkout Apps?

Hi there, I've built custom PowerApps, and I'm interested in trying a template.

I've downloaded both a sample canvas template, and a sample model-driven template from PowerApps. Neither seems to have a ReadMe, or any other documentation.

I'm trying to figure out basic questions like: what business functions does this meet? is there an admin and a front-facing view? how do you manage active assets or check-outs? what are the data connections? how to you manage permissions?

Can someone tell me where to find this documentation?
