DevOps : Power Platform Export Solution error

Hello everyone,

While running my Build Pipeline for export solution (Power Platform Export Solution step) from my instance to Git, there is an error saying ->

##[error]Exception type: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]

Message: An error occurred while exporting a solution. Managed solutions cannot be exported.Detail:

Anyone can help me what is the error about and how to resolve it ? I'm also not sure what information I need to tell regarding this, so really appreciate if someone can guide me what I should take a look further.

Hi,

So I guess (as the error mentioned) managed solution cannot be exported. Which bring me to the next question, how to copy/deploy a managed solution to another environment with DevOps ? I'm trying to deploy some solution which is tag as Managed in my Dev environment to the new environment (Test)

Correct. Once a managed solution has been installed, you cannot export it from that environment. This is a deliberate step by MSFT to help partners protect their IP.

At some point, you had a managed solution zip file that you used to import to your dev. You must use that same zip file again to import to your other environments, or, if you have access to the environment where the managed solution was originally created, you can export from there as managed.
