How to share a Dataverse Model by using Excels Dataverse connector?

Hello Community,

im working for almost a year now with the power plattform and the dataverse and managed to get a lot of stuff done.
Actually im loading several data sources with Power Automate Cloud- and Dataflows into the dataverse to achieve validated data as a source for power bi reports.

I now need to share the data itself (read only) from the dataverse with a specific group of analysts.
These analyst shall be able to make ad hoc queries that are currently not provided by power bi or are single use.

I made an example XLSX File with a Power Pivot Datamodel and provided a power Pivot Function within this file, this helps the first needs but isnt a long term solution.
If i connect the dataverse tables into excel by using the dataverse connector, i "only" connect tables instead of any relations.

I havent set any realtions within in the dataverse so far, since the modelling is happening in power bi at the moment.

I would like to provide a connection to the dataverse/ data that includes a pre modeled dataset with the necesseary relations, but low level as possible to make ad hoc queries with a power pivot.
Is this a typical usecase for data of the dataverse, or am i on the wrong path here ?

Looking forward for any input or help,

All the best,
Seb

    Hi,

It's not that it's not asked about exactly, it's that, since you don't have the relationships it makes it much more difficult.

I am not sure however, why they aren't able to use Power BI? If you have all the data there and all the relationships, they should be able to do everything and anything they want, including download data to Excel.

What exactly is blocking Power BI from being the solution as that should be.
