Retrieving user and bot conversations from App Insight Instance post conversation

Hi Team,

We have configured App Insight for Copilot Bot.

It is logging User and Bot messages also. So, We would like to retrieve user and bot conversations immediately post conversation so that we can pass these conversations to a third party live agent. We are not using OmniChannel service.

Is data in app insight available immediately after completion of a conversation?
If yes, is it a good approach to retrieve user and bot conversations from App Insights using Rest API?

There's a short delay with App Insights.
If you're using the Direct Line channel, can this approach work?

Hi Henry,
Thank you so much for quick reply.
As per your reply on another post, we can't use Directline API's for teams channel.

That is why exploring other options. We don't want to use global variable or Custom Data verse table for storing conversations because we have to make changes in all topics which is not best way. Maintenance cost also increase with this.

That is why thought of querying data from App Insight using Rest API .
Short delay means, how many minutes of time it will take to reflect data in App Insight.
Can you please help on this?

Hi @argeraju - the transcript isn't available at runtime today. So, as a workaround you can try and build it yourself by appending messages to a variable (e.g. using the on message received and in each topic when the bot sends a message to the user).
