Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with the QR Code Reader control in Power Apps (version 3.24111.8) on a Xiaomi device (model: 24094RAD4G running Android 15).
The camera launches correctly when the QR scanner is triggered, but the scanned result is never returned or reflected in the app. Interestingly, the same app works perfectly on another Xiaomi device (model: 23129RAA4G), which suggests this may be a device-specific or OS-related issue.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
I haven't modified the canvas app logic or settings, as the same app works fine on the older Xiaomi device.
Additionally, I tested the legacy barcode scanner control on the same Xiaomi 24094RAD4G device, and it worked correctly. This suggests the issue may be specific to the newer QR Code Reader control.
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior on Android 15 or Xiaomi devices? Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Fallback to Legacy Barcode Scanner Control
Since it works on the affected device, you can temporarily use it until the QR Code Reader control is patched.
Report the Issue to Microsoft
This appears to be a compatibility bug with Android 15 or the Xiaomi camera API. Reporting it via Power Apps support will help escalate the issue.
Check for Power Apps App Updates
Ensure you're using the latest version of the Power Apps mobile app. Sometimes fixes are rolled out silently in minor updates.

Device-Specific Camera Settings
Some Xiaomi devices have aggressive battery optimization or camera permission restrictions. Try:
